Wolfgang Volz

Wolfgang Volz is a German photographer known for his extensive collaboration with the artists Christo and Jeanne-Claude. He was born in Germany in 1948 and has worked closely with the artistic duo since the early 1970s. Throughout his career, Volz has documented numerous projects by Christo and Jeanne-Claude, such as the Reichstag in Berlin, the Pont-Neuf and the Arc de Triomphe in Paris, and many others. His photographs are unique visual records of these temporary interventions in public spaces, preserving the memory of these artworks long after they have been dismantled.

Wolfgang Volz has also been involved in other aspects of Christo and Jeanne-Claude's projects, such as overseeing the selection and acquisition of fabrics, as well as coordinating logistical aspects related to the installation process. He continues to be involved in projects related to their artistic legacy, even after Christo's passing, as seen in his work with the posthumous wrapping of the Arc de Triomphe.
